Changes and Invasions Through the Ages at Olmsted Park

Walk with us and explore the geological, environmental, and cultural shifts that shaped Olmsted Park. This Olmsted-designed landscape reflects its history: see how interventions including the filling of the Back Bay and the introduction of invasive plant species have changed the park’s appearance, upkeep, and use. Meets at the parking lot behind the Brook House high-rise complex which is located at 33 Pond Avenue in Brookline, MA. The walk is free and open to the public, no reservations required.

Dawn & Dusk Yoga at Fairsted

Explore the links between Olmsted’s design philosophy and the practice of Amrit Yoga. As you inhabit the landscape, you will be able to explore how the outer space of an intentionally designed landscape can provide opportunities for peace and tranquility. Similarly, as you experience Amrit Yoga, you will be able to explore how the inner space of an intentionally designed practice can provide opportunities for balance and relief. All classes are FREE and open to the public. Mats are provided. Reservations are required. This program is part of the Healthy People/Healthy People Initiative.

Sundays July 8, 15, 22, 29 | 10:00–11:30am
