The Friends of Fairsted works cooperatively with the National Park Service to benefit and support Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site and its mission:
Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site preserves and interprets historic structures, grounds and collections associated with the professional design office of landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr. and the Olmsted firm. The site's purpose is to:
- advance the study and understanding of Frederick Law Olmsted's life and legacy;
- promote understanding of the creative process of landscape design;
- encourage the study and stewardship of nationally, regionally and locally significant landscapes; and
- foster appreciation of the influence of landscape in everyday life.
