FRIENDS OF FAIRSTED
The Friends of Fairsted collaborate with the National Park Service to promote the legacy of Frederick Law Olmsted and the Olmsted firm. The Friends fund, sponsor, and develop programs and projects that enhance appreciation of over a century of professional practice, which began with Frederick Law Olmsted and continued through the work of his sons and successors, all of whom helped shape the American landscape.
The Friends sponsor an annual lecture series, support publications related to the Olmsted legacy, administer the Beveridge Research Fellowship, and provide financial support to park programs and projects. These activities foster understanding and appreciation of the influence of landscape design on everyday life.
The Friends of Fairsted Board of Directors is a group that includes Olmsted scholars, educators, neighbors, landscape architects, preservation professionals, writer/editors, and business leaders, all of whom are devoted to the Olmsted legacy and to the Olmsted National Historic Site.
